The X One was conceived to complement the new cordless tools platform X One, which is based on a unique 20V battery that can power more than 25 tools. This concept was developed to match the platform's innovative approach and enhance the efficiency of construction sites.
The radio is not just a simple device. It boasts 2 speakers with stereo and mono options, a Bluetooth connection, a USB port, an aux port, and FM, AM, and DAB antenna. All functions, including on-off, are controlled with a center tactile wheel with a clear rounded display, making it user-friendly and efficient.
The X One is constructed from durable plastic and aluminium, ensuring it can withstand harsh environments and temperatures. The assembly includes a combination of moulded parts and sheet aluminium, demonstrating a thoughtful design process that prioritizes durability and functionality.
Technical specifications of the X One include a power source of a 20V battery or a power cord 220V, two 5W speakers, radio frequency of FM, AM, DAB, and a playing time of up to 25 hours with a 20V 4Ah battery. The device measures 265 x 138 x 138mm and weighs approximately 3.5kg without the battery.
The design process of the X One was not without its challenges. The designers had to maintain the original volume size with minimal deviations while fitting in two speakers, a removable battery, and electronic parts. The result is a symmetrical design with two speakers on the sides, a central internal space for the battery, and a single tactile wheel on top. The compact and strong construction features a strong plastic housing with aluminium and TPE for edges, forming X-shaped handles for easy mobility.
With its unique features and robust design, the X One is not just a construction site radio; it's a testament to the power of innovative design in transforming everyday tools into extraordinary devices. It's a perfect example of how design and technology can come together to create a product that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
